xoco Mexican chocolate
Format
Brand identity / Packaging
Tone
Tone is bright, bold, and fun.
Xoco is a rebrand project for Mexican hot chocolate. The visual identity was inspired by the patterns and colors of tablecloths found in Mexican households and the objects you find on such tables. The new image is meant to reflect the tradition that has been part of Mexican families for centuries while giving it a modern and appealing twist.

Nostalgica — A publication about nostalgia
Project 2
Format
Graphic Magazine (7 X 9.75in)
Tone
Lighthearted, personal, grunge
‘Nostálgica’ is a publication about what makes me, Sofia, nostalgic. Nostalgia is fuzzy, nostalgia is blurry, nostalgia is comfort, and more importantly, nostalgia is personal. This publication is meant to portray visually many of the faces of nostalgia and that same ambiguity that is tied to it serves as an opportunity for the viewer to fill in the blanks with their own memories, their own nostalgias.
caps merch
Format
Merchandise - Apparel, animal accessories and apparel, accessories and more.
Tone
Bold, playful, friendly.
CAPS (Companion Animal Protection Society) is a NGO that investigates illegal puppy mills to rescue companion animals, and provide them with care and eventually a home.
CAPS wanted to create a new merchandise collection that reflected what they stand for, and that people would want to wear.
Color Palette
Graphic Elements
I wanted the collection to reflect the essence of the organization focusing on approachability, friendliness, and playfulness.
Some of the collection pieces include men's and women's apparel, bags, dog apparel, and accessories.
Project 7
The color palette was inspired by the bright red in the CAPS logo, then adding some complementary colors and keeping it limited to three main color families.
Meet-Cute
Project 4
Format
Advertising Campaign and brand identity.
Tone
Bold, fun, youthful, nostalgic.
Meet-Cute is a website and app that allows Chick Flick fanatics to find all of their favorite movies on one platform. Nostalgia is a strong inspiration for this project which is why the website will be streaming back-to-back movies replicating the feeling of turning on the TV and tuning in to watch a movie that you love.
In-site stickers inspired by different chick flicks will prompt users to visit the website.
Coco magazine
Project 5
Format
Small Magazine (8.5 X 11in)
Tone
Fun, bright, bold, expressive.
This was a small magazine I created of the movie Coco. It’s a graphics-heavy magazine with various content from the movie such as synopsis, characters, cast, fun facts, etc.
I was inspired by the movie's bright colors and fun tone, which were at the same time referencing Mexican culture.
Future forward music festival
Project 3
Format
Typographic Visual Identity
Tone
Bold, saturated, and maximalist.
The prompt for this project was to create a typographic-forward visual identity for a music festival taking place at LACMA, that features alternative electronic music and performance art.
The identity was inspired by the concept of three-dimensionality since sound requires a three-dimensional space to exist. And the festival was all about the future and moving forward, which also requires dimensionality.
One of the main visual elements of the identity is the use of lines, the reason is that they help transmit concepts such as longitude, volume, and direction, which are some of the central concepts I extracted from the festival’s identity.
The typefaces that I chose for this project were also intentionally selected to take up space and show longitude as well.
Another important element of the identity is the use of the “F” shaped grid used to emphasize the frequent use of the letter in the name “Future” “Forward”, and “Festival”.
90’s chick flick
Project 6
Format
Poster and mini-magazine (when folded)
Tone
Restrained, abstract, and modern.
I love chick flicks, and I was born in the 90’s so I wanted to incorporate both of these concepts into a fun nostalgic piece.
I wanted to capture the culture of the era for chick flick fanatics. The fashion, music, and celebrities they were into. Now that 90’s style is making a comeback, there’s no better moment to look back and remember what makes it so great.
I wanted this magazine to reflect the fun, free-spirited, rebel spirit of a teen that loves rom-coms and flipping through her favorite magazine, getting up to date about the latest gossip, and stealing looks from the most relevant celebrities. I also wanted to incorporate a retro style and a DIY aspect as well.
